error: required file 'config.h.in' not found

Hi,

I cannot seem to find the solution.  I'm not the only one:

though some hits seem to mention:

  AUTOMAKE_ARGS = --add-missing

in the Makefile.am.  Unfortunately, I already had that in
my Makefile.am.  No joy.  Does someone know the magic?
