Thanks for volunteering; I may well take you up on that if Emacs starts using havelib.

One little problem I noticed when testing my attempts to test havelib and libgmp: './gnulib-tool --test havelib' fails on Ubuntu 18.04.4 x86-64, ending in:

make  check-TESTS
