It is a lesser problem that a script takes 0.3 seconds longer to execute,
than that a developer gets confused when they want to take a look at a
git repository and the foremost information they get shown is a mix
between "2 years ago" and "7 years ago".

Alas, we also have plenty of cgit URLs, in the "Browse sources repository"
link in https://savannah.gnu.org/projects/<package>.
