On PPC Leopard, Mac OS X 10.5.8, I used Apple's GCC 4.2 – powerpc- apple-darwin9-gcc-4.2.1 (GCC) 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5577) – to build. Again the working directory's date was changed but no confdir3 tree was left. The return code is 32. A console report appeared here:

08.01.22 23:11:18 kernel kernel Debug add_fsevent: no name hard-link! dropping the event. (event 7 vp == 0x57f0240 (confdir3)).

The test on PPC Tiger has to wait for a few days until I can reboot.

On Leopard and High Sierra (and Tiger) also GCC 7.5 for example are available, compiled in MacPorts.

My sister opened a computer store in Hawaii. She sells C shells down by the seashore.
