Error installing gnustep-gui-0.7.8 on i686-pc-linux-gnu

Hi, and first apologies if this has already been addressed but I couldn't find 
anything relevant in the archives.

Running make install (gcc 3.0.4, make 3.79.1, gnustep-base 1.3.3, gnustep-make 
1.3.3) on gnustep-gui 0.7.8:
"Making all for service example...

GNUSTEP Internal Error:
The private GNUstep function to establish the argv and environment
variables was not called.
