This is not normal behaviour for Gorm's "current state".  Gorm is completely
working and shouldn't exhibit this type of problem.  It works just fine on
Linux and several other operating systems.  See attached image for proof this
works on Linux.

Which operating system is this happening on? 

I strongly urge you to, in the future, fully document any problems you find and
submit them on savannah.gnu.org.  This ensures tracking and resolution of
issues with GNUstep.

Please update from CVS to make certain you have the most up-to-date version
possible and see if the problem persists.   If you can't do this, then grab one
of the nightly snapshots from ftp.gnuste.org and test that.
