If the window looks correct after dragging another window over it, this implies
that the view was redrawn properly, but the window contents wasn't flushed to
the screen completely. I won't be able to debug this without being able to
reproduce it, and "normal" code for doing this works. Example code would be
nice.
Which backend are you using? Is the update triggered in any special way (timer,
DO, other threads, etc.)? What kind of backing store are you using for the
window?

Summary: NSTextField not updating until program is deactivated
Original Submission: NSTextFields on my window don't update with a
setStringValue... They show the right value if another window is selected and
passed before the textfields in question. (this is based on cvs 7/5/2004)

Could you please provide some example code for this problem? NSTextFieldCell
uses the same code as NSActionCell for setStringValue: which tells the control
view to update itself. I would expect this to result in the new value being
displayed immediatly. But than I must admit I did not fully understand your bug
report.
