Details:
If for example, I have NSLanguages set to Japanese, trying to spellcheck any
document will result in a dialog saying there is no Japanese dictionary. It
gives the disctinct impression that I won't be able to spell check my English
(or otherwise) file. But, if you open the spelling panel, and select
AmericanEnglish, it will work fine. Would it be better to fall back to an
installed dictionary, if one for the selected language is not present? I
think it would be better if this happened automatically, rather than
presenting a dialog that the user would have to click 'ok' to dismiss.
