Follow-up Comment #7, bug #13413 (project gnustep):

The reason the -pthread "fix" is crap is because since libgnustep-base itself
never explicitely gets linked against libpthread ... "pthread_init()" is never
called as it is supposed to according to POSIX ... As a result libobjc tries
do its own thread-related initialization and as a result causes a SIGSEGV.
