Status: None => Works For Me
Open/Closed: Open => Closed

Follow-up Comment #1:
I've added a line to test this near the start of main() in
base/testing/basic.m
I've also tweaked the declaration in preface.m to be char* rather than
char[]
Anyway, it works for me with the current code in CVS (make and base) and the
came compiler version. Please give it a go ... see if the usage in basic.m
works for you, and if there are still problems, perhaps we can reopen this.
