I haven't tested gnustep-startup on apple/intel, but it appears most likely
that ffcall does not work here (it does not work on apple/ppc either). Try to
install libffi first, then run startup again (make sure you erase any previous
GNUstep installation as well).
You can get libffi from Fink, for instance.
