As for the bug itself, sorry I must have expressed myself badly, it's not a
bug in gnustep, it's rather a result of source-based distros (and USE flags
which allow features customization). Our QA team explains it better than me
;)

There are tools to rebuild packages that get broken when an automagic
dependency is removed of course, but it's faster/more user-friendly when we
can disable/enable the feature manually (the package manager can handle it all
by itself).
