Details:

attached is a minimal sample application that loads a XIB file that just
contains a single NSTextField. the NSTextField has its "draws background"
property set to ON, but the actual background color is set to transparent.

of course the background is not drawn in cocoa since the background color is
transparent. gnustep ignores the transparency and draws the whole NSTextField
black.
