[bug #12300] Changing some font properties from menu does not work

Follow-up Comment #4:

I am not sure what this means either.  I have tried to reproduce it (what I
think it means) by testing a number of the items in the font menu.  All seems
to work okay.  Since there has been no follow up and no further comment in 8
years, I am closing this.  If it is still an issue please reopen it on github.
