MM Problems |

I have used MM for quite a while on another UNIX system and changed
over to GROFF's MM ( Revision 2.4 from May 2001 ) this week.
I cannot get the effect of
.nr Pt 2
to work. This should indent except after headings, displays and lists. It
doesn't ident any (.P) paragraph, ever, unless you force it with (.P 1).
I also cannot get the default space before headings (.H) or lists (.AL).
Even if I play around with the Hps, Hps1, & Hps2 registers, it does not
work according to the manual.
Nothing I do gets a space before a list.
Also, every time a heading is activated, it resets the font and vertical
space of the text following the heading. Why do I have to reset this?
This is not what I thought was the default befaviour.
Are there fixes for any of the above?
While we are talking about reseting environments, Is there a way, on
entering a new display, to restore the font and spacing from the previous
display. It drives me crazy having to reset the font and spacing every
time I go into a display. Mind you, this has been MM behaviour for over
15 years or so.
Thanks - Damian
