suggested fix to grn compatibility mode

INCORRECT BEHAVIOUR:
   Even in compatibility mode, grn does not take into account
   the text when computing figure boundaries.
   This can lead to results that are quite different from
    the results you get from the original grn.

    The attached patch will cause grn to behave as old grn
    when it is in compatibility mode (-C)
