To whom it may concern:

The attached file 1979_02940002.png shows what I want to reproduce with
ESB.tbl.

I tried to build a stack with mathematical symbols to achieve a large vertical
curly bracket.

In ESB.ps, the curly brackets are displayed correctly, albeit somewhat meagre
in comparison to the original (doesn't bother me as long as it works), in the
ESB.pdf file I get boxes or nothing, depending on viewer.

Please ignore the improper vertical alignment of the brackets, this is not
part of the problem.

My groff installation is an out-of-the-box version 1.22.3 shipped with Fedora
(31 or 32, I forgot).
