Details:

This page rambles a bit.

But the biggest of its problems is that it is in section 5
despite not actually documenting a file format.  As we are at
pains to observe:


There is no syntactical difference between a macro file and any
other roff document; only its purpose distinguishes it.


This man page should move to section 7 where it can continue to
introduce its subject and document macro files that don't have
pages of their own.

The later sections about writing macros are better relocated to
groff(7) (or roff(7), if sufficiently general), and parallelized
with corresponding nodes in our Texinfo manual.
