Since GRUB allows to retrieve a menu from the network, you can make
something powerful : only propose, via the network, for, say, all the
boxes in a classroom, a menu with the sole OS that students are allowed to
boot at this very moment. DHCP on a server. A cron job or an intervention
"by hand" to edit the right menu.lst for the right hour. GRUB installed
everywhere only retrieving its menu via the network --- nothing to
change on the client side ; all is defined on the server one.
