Same here, also with a poweredge 350 :-( The only that worked, was
installing grub on (hd0), with a root of (hd1,0)!

Booting from floppy also works. Unfortunatly, I had a deadline, so I
had to switch back to stupid lilo, but I think I'll buy a second 350
in a month or so...
