Hi all,

After making the switch from LILO to GRUB, I have run into a snag.

When I boot the system with a grub floppy, with say 'root (hd0,0)' and
the appropriate kernel line, only one of the disks (the second one
(hd1) appears to be running in the array yet both disks appear to be
in the array according to /proc/mdstat. I check this by running
bonnie++ and when it starts to work the drives only the second one
  shows any activity.

I then installed grub and copied the images to the /boot/grub
directory. Upon reboot, grub can only find the images on the second
drive (hd1) when supposedly the array was running (I checked before)
so the files should exist on both disks in the array.

When I boot the system with LILO, the array comes up fine. Bonnie++
seems to thrash both disks simultaeously and files that are installed
appear on both drives for the grub shell. However, the reason that I
am switching to GRUB is the descriptor table keeps getting blown away
and I get LIL- when the machine boots up sometimes.

  My configuration is as follows:
Two 18GB SCSI hard drives - to be used in a RAID 1 configuration
Two XFS partitions on each drive.

I have the latest GRUB with the xfs patches and the RAID-1 support
  (according to the changelog) grub-0.90

Any help would be greatly appriciated,

    Regards,

      Gerry
