Beep at boot

Is there a way to get GRUB to (optionally) beep the PC speaker at bootup?
LILO has such an option, but I couldn't find a similar option in the GRUB
docs.

If there's no way, would there be support for allowing such an option?
I can do the coding with a pointer or two.
