Hello,On a first computer I have Linux and W98 installed with Grub as the bootloader. I took the hd (in master mode) from this 1st pc and put it (in slave mode) in a 2nd one : the bios found the hd and I could use it under WXP. Then, I put back the hd (in master mode) in the 1st pc. Instead of showing the list of os to boot, it showed the Grub command line. I tried to boot under linux by using "kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hdc...", it answered me : error 5. In fact, everything I tried, it answered : error 5. So I did a "fdisk /mbr" and now I have to reinstall Linux (hopefully all the data were on the windows partition). I did'nt touch any of the bios of the 2 pc.
