First of all, I'd strongly recommend that you take a look at the
current CVS. You don't need to check it out, because
subversions.gnu.org has a web interface (viewcvs).

Currently, the CVS version is mostly the same as this. The differences
are:

1. The configuration file is read after the preset menu implicitly.
2. The diskless version makes use of the preset menu.

This sounds quite complicated to me. This should be avoided, IMO.

I think those are really important. If we don't discuss those
thoroughly, we would face many problems, possibly conflicts between
users' requirements and backward compatibilities. This time, I changed
the manner more or less, because few people should use the feature at
the moment, but I don't want to (or cannot) change it again, once the
next version is released. That's the very reason why I'd like everyone
to test the CVS version. If there is any problem or complaint about
the CVS version, it is crucial to say it *now* rather than after
releasing it publicly.
