Finally, I had a working system with XFS and tested the current CVS
version of GRUB on the system. The result was quite fine - nothing
wrong happened to me. Incidentally, I used Linux 2.4.18 applied
xfs-2.4.18-all-i386.bz2 distributed in the SGI site, with Debian
woody.
So I have no idea on what happened in your system. For now, I must
conclude that GRUB has no problem with XFS.
