Win98 boot changes linux partition type from 0x83 |

I use grub-0.91; I wrote stage1 on MBR, it finds stage2 and menu.lst in
/boot/grub on /dev/hda1, and I successfully boot into either linux or
windows 98:
/dev/hda1 linux
/dev/hda2 linux swap
/dev/hda3 fat32-lba
However, every time I use windows 98, the partition type of /dev/hda1
gets changed to 0x93; when I reboot grub attempts stage2 and fails to
read menu.lst (gives grub> prompt), and I must use parttype before grub
will get through to reading menu.lst. Any suggestions?
Best wishes
Daniel
