When you do have a GRUB disk, then why not reinstall GRUB from his disk. 
GRUB is not deleted on the hard disk, just the MBR has been killed. GRUB 
does have the setup command, to correct this situation. In this respect, 
it is always a good idea, to keep a GRUB disk.

If Alexander does not have a GRUB disk (he wrote, he can boot RHfrom CD 
and mount his Linux partitions, he can use the GRUB shell to reinstall 
GRUB. I am not sure, wether ``grub-install /dev/hda'' does its job, when 
you have your linux file system hierarchy mounted on /mnt instead of 
on /, but the GRUB shell does have the setup command, too.
