Did that a couple of times. Nothing. The boot sector of the win partition
remains intact.

Also, I tried re-installing win98 and the scandisk (etc) went really good
but after the reboot (where the computer should boot directly into win98
safe mode to complete the installation) the computer hung. It certainly
couldn't find the boot code at the boot sector of the win partition.
