stage1_5 gives error 17, while stage2 works fine

Hi,

I have problem with grub 0.92. If I load grub from floppy, then it works
fine, i.e. kernel (hd1,0)/boot/vmlinuz ...; boot and everything is ok.
Then I do root (hd1,0); setup (hd1). It installs. Then I
reboot, and try to boot from hard disk. Stage 1.5 is loaded, "Grub
loading..." is displayed, and "error 17". I.e. it sees partition,
but cannot mount it. I see no good reason why, since as mentioned above
stage2 sees it.

hd1 is on separate ATA-100 HPT controller.
