Hmm, that sounds strange. Can you check your filesystem with "e2fsck
-f"?

If that doesn't solve anything, please recompile GRUB with the cpp
macro E2DEBUG defined (e.g. make GRUB_CFLAGS="-DE2DEBUG=1"). Then,
invoke the grub shell "grub" as a superuser and execute "testload
/boot/vmlinuz". This would produce a lot of debug messages. Send all
the messages. I'll take a look at them.
