I'm using the build script I've posted here before.

Here's what happens:

    GNU GRUB  version 0.93  (638K lower / 64512K upper memory)

 [ Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported.  For the first word, TAB
   lists possible command completions.  Anywhere else TAB lists the possible
   completions of a device/filename. ]

The NIC is actually an on-board 3COM 3c59x

I've bult support for these NICs:
3c509 3c595 eepro100 rtl8139 sis900 lance

With just support for the 3c59x, I get this:
