Does GRUB take care of BIOS rearranging device codes? In my setup, I have 12 drives connected to a 3ware controller. These drives are named sda - sdl. Assuming my bootable drive is sde and there is information on sda, sdb etc. to boot linux off sde.

Now, if I pull out sda, the BIOS will rearrange the device codes. Is there any way in GRUB to continue to boot off sde (now sdd since sda is gone)?

Any help is appreciated ...

Thanks
Manish
