Still no success with boot to NT on hda2 |

This is the follow-up to an earlier thread:
Command (m for help): p
Disk /dev/hda: 16 heads, 63 sectors, 77545 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 208 104800+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda2 * 209 3256 1536192 6 FAT16
/dev/hda3 19791 19999 105336 83 Linux
/dev/hda4 20000 70000 25200504 5 Extended
/dev/hda5 20000 21056 532696+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda6 21057 23081 1020568+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda7 23082 35272 6144232+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda8 35273 44415 4608040+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda9 44416 46041 819472+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda10 46042 49089 1536160+ 16 Hidden FAT16
/dev/hda11 49090 50114 516568+ 16 Hidden FAT16
The hidden stuff and hda2 have been added in the meantime on the
comment that NT might not boot from the logical drive hda10.
This is why I put it forward to hda2.
When I now issue the usual commands:
rootnoverify (hd0,1)
makeactive (though it is !)
chainloader +1
boot
it comes up with
Disk I/O error: Status = 00000001
and I have to turn off the power.
If I do, however, boot nicely to hda1 (or hda3) - Linux /boot - the
disk boots up very properly. So it can't be a disk error.
Then I can also nicely
mount -t vfat /dev/hda2 /mnt/whatsoever
and /mnt/whatsoever will show me the files necessary for the NT boot
process: ntldr, boot.ini, ntdetect plus the rest of C:
So it seems nothing is missing, anything mounts but hda2 doesn't boot.
Any more ideas ?
