Is there any official description (or rule of thumb) on what is "big enough"
for the copyright laws?

For example, I couldn't tell myself wether my recent patches for dynamic
allocation and misc *BSD fixes in lib/device.c are too big or not.

Thanks for the offer. I'll think about it, i'm not sure yet how much
compromised I want to become with GRUB in the future.. time will tell.
