I've been using GRUB 0.91 and had a problem loading windows (I had to
run the command in menu.lst twice to load windows).
Searching the net, I've found out that this is a bug and it's fixed in
newer GRUB versions.
I've downloaded grub-0.94.tar.gz;
# ./configure
# make install
copied grub and grub-install to /sbin
copied stage1, and all the exec in stage 2 to /boot/grub
# grub-install '(fd0)'
# reboot
Grub 0.94 loads but without the menu. Windows will load fine, but I
can't load Linux - when I press tab after 'root (hd1,' I only get two
partitions, none of which is my linux partition. With 0.91 I hade 6.
I've never built any program before on Linux and the steps above are the
only ones I've executed. Am I doing something wrong?
I've tried 0.93 as well and it was exactly the same.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
