Summary: Please add a GRUB command that can boot a CD

Original Submission: Hello,

It would be very useful if the GRUB user could select a bootable CD as a boot
option. As I can ascertain from the grub documentation, a (cd) drive is
available if GRUB was booted from a CD. But it appears that this same
functionality (the (cd) drive) is not available if GRUB was booted from a hard
disk.

This feature could specifically be used by the user to launch windows/linux/etc
operating system installers from their respective bootable CDs from GRUB rather
than configuring their BIOS to boot from CD. Combined with the map or hide
commands, this could even be used to prevent the windows installer from
overwritting the MBR and GRUB. I think this feature would be very useful and
important to the maturity and robustness of the "grand unified bootloader."

Thank you for your consideration.
