I beg your pardon? I report a bug and you close the issue because there are no
bugs?

Let me rephrase: The current Int15h handler in GRUB does not work for boards
that do not have an A20 gate at all, because these boards report "no A20 gate
switching method available" through Int15h. Furthermore, GRUB then falls back
to KBC direct access, and hangs infinitely because these boards inherently do
not have a KBC either.

Do you want to hear our suggestion on how to fix that?

I implemented INT 15h support a long time ago, and I hear no bug report on
this. So I close this bug.

Greetings!

We're currently prototyping a system mainboard that does not have a KBC, and
promptly have observed GRUB to run into this issue.

We've been implementing Int15h 240x functions, and could think of an improved
algorithm in GRUB that makes better use of them - particularly in case the
system does not have a method of switching the A20 gate at all. This is the
case in systems that follow the MS "Legacy Free" initiative - A20gate is always
open, and there's no method of closing it at all.

Please let us know how we can participate in getting GRUB to run on these
systems.

regards,
Peter

I did some changes on this bug a long time ago, and I have never heard the same
problem for a while. So I lower the priority, but not closing it, so that I
wouldn't forget it.

Okuji
