how to apply patches

Hello all,

Sorry for the noob question, but I have been searching unsuccessfully to answer a very simple question:

 

How do I apply patches to grub? I have some brand new Intel 1gb NIC’s that aren’t working with 0.94 grub. Its funny because I bought these because I have onboard versions of the same NIC that work perfectly. I thought I would try the 0.95 + diskless patch and see if it resolves my problem but I can’t figure out how to apply the diskless patch.

 

 

I’ve tried patch –p1 < eb-5.3.7-e1000.diff but it just asks what file I want to patch.
