Details:
I have an issue where the GRUB countdown does not work on a SUN Fire X4200
server. After some web searching it seems that GRUB somehow reads the
keyboard buffer if any keys are pressed during the BIOS part of the boot
process.
In my case I have F1 to continue enabled for problems. When pressing F1 GRUB
countdown is not working. When I turn off the F1 to continue, GRUB loads
normally.
It seems that I am not the only person that experiences this as I found the
answer to this using Google.
If there is an update for GRUB that can repair this, please let me know.
Thanks
Mac
