GRUB should go to MBR.
That presumes Grub is only ever the master boot loader. That presumption is
one reason for resistance to Grub2, which amounts to a complicated mini OS
rather than mere bootloader. Until comprehensive documentation is widely
available for Grub2, its use on a MBR is difficult to justify. Users lacking
the skill to disgorge Grub2 installation and usage information from diverse
sources are typically better served by Legacy Grub, or Legacy Grub in
combination with another bootloader like AiR-Boot, IBM Boot Manager, or NTLDR.
