Details:
I've recently switched to using authenticated boot on Gentoo using GRUB 2.06
and I've noticed that pressing escape to leave a submenu will trigger
authentication, even if --unrestricted is specified.
I have a little bit of time this week - if I'm able, I'll submit a patch.
