Success!  You have cured DVD install on all my machines.

Both

connmand -n
connman-vpnd

are running according to ps -Af.

“herd status” says

Stopped:
 - console-font-tty1
 - cow-store
 - gpm
 - networking
 - ssh-daemon
 - wpa-supplicant

I attach all logs if you decide this issue is not done yet, because
actually disable-vpn? is set.  Otherwise please push & mark as done.

The log from my patch to dbus-daemon says:
