Hi Peter,

I think I screwed up in the transition from glibc 2.1 to glibc 2.2.
Ben Collins laid out a transition plan which I lost (because
of email lossage), and I simply compiled all I could in an order which
seemed to work. What I want to do is to update glibc and the other involved
packages first and then look if the problem persists.
(Now that I think about it, it could also be a linker problem.
Maybe the inter-library dependencies were dropped. I will check this
before recompiling)
