cross-install error

Hello

i just tried to install hurd and the cross-install failed :(

My setup is the following:
Debian 2.2 with latest security updates
cross-install script from www.debian.org/ports/hurd/extra-files/

i started it witch ./cross-install /gnu
and after downloading all necessary packages it exited with:



ERROR: dpkg did return unusual messages, please investigate:
INSTALLATION ABORTED!

warning, `temp_build/dpkg/DEBIAN/control' contains user-defined field `Origin'
warning, `temp_build/dpkg/DEBIAN/control' contains user-defined field `Bugs'
dpkg-deb: ignoring 2 warnings about the control file(s)
Replacing files in old package libc0.2 ...
  hurd provides login but is unpacked but not configured.

INSTALLATION ABORTED because of unknown errors. Partial installation
is NOT usable. Correct the error and start from scratch. 


I did not yet investigate it because i first wanted to get used to hurd
before developing patches.

Perhaps you can send me some hints what to do.
