I have started to debug this. All that I know at the moment is that
the child does a segmentation violation before hitting main.

I have one question, just to make life a bit easier: right now, if I
make a small change, I need to rebuild the entire library from the root
of the build directory (this is nearly a ten minute compile). Is there
an easier way to do this?
