Well, what really matters about it is whether it works!  The use of the
Mach calls looks right to me.  If your test program works on gnumach to
test the working drivers for your ethernet hardware, then that's the test
program you need on oskit-mach!

It should be simple to see from e.g. pfinet how to use device_get_status to
find out the MAC address so you don't have to hard-wire it.

You don't need any special knowledge to generalize the program to take
arguments for the device name and other details, and that will make it
something generally useful to have in the Hurd sources.
