No, I was just stumbling upon the ioslave for ldap used by konqueror. Maybe
openldap. But a quick search on google turned up a lot of gateway, client
and server software. Developer info:

I guess just programming based on the rfc's, or maybe using a GPL'ed LDAP
client library will be the best way. Also browse the Debian package lists.
