marcus@stampede:~$ cpp -E -undef -dM /dev/null
#define __i386__ 1
#define __i386 1
#define i386 1

It drops linux and unix, but not i386.  The include got broken, but that was
in a change to gnumach's I/O bitmap frobbing that never went into the CVS,
and probably never will.
