It probably was just hanging while blocking on sending a message to one
of the task's message port.  You can avoid that with -M or so (please
check yourself), at the cost of reduced information.  This can happen if
one of the tasks is stuck.  I think ps -A -F hurd is also giving you
only information retrievable without the task's help.
