One can do all sorts of fancy things, but I think the important
question in this discussion is what a reasonable and safe *default*
behaviour should be.
I'm not sure what rm -rf ought to do with translators, but I suspect
that following them is not the right thing to do. The safest way seems
to be to just fail if there are any translators in the tree, with
options to make it either recurse into translated filesystem, or
detach any translators it finds and recurse deleting the underlying
node.
